Selling work is a strange beast. I didn’t think it would bother me but when I box up work to ship out I feel this bitter sweet moment. I know i’ll never see it again, have no control over it anymore, but I also know that someone wanted it because they think it’s good.

It’s a rock and a hard place. If no one buys it I would think it’s not good enough, and if someone buys it I’ll miss it.

I only sell online right now, but have thoughts of gallery submissions. I think the gallery experence would be less stressful. Seeing my work hanging under gallery lights, I would think I give the work what it deserved. I would also get to meet the buyer face to face.

I don’t know, just food for thought. Maybe we can get a discussion going?

it’s not quite finished, but it’s pretty darn close :)

I just posted work on my etsy for the first time, and it’s my first attempt of selling one of a kind art. It’s a strange process to me. The idea of putting a price tag on something I love is weird, but also the idea of selling it and never having it again is very strange as well.

I am comfortable with it, if I didn’t sell this work it just pile up and at least someone will appricate it, but it’s still not easy….

When your creating, do you sometimes become entranced in your work? I feel a feeling, and only way I can decribe it is rage. It’s a burning passion sort of emotion. I can’t think of anything else, and if it weren’t so burning it would be enjoyable I think.
